Emily has always owned dogs and she has been actively working with them in a work-place capacity since 2002. Her vast array of experience includes dog walking, dog sitting, working as a veterinary assistant, fostering rescue dogs and most recently, owning and operating a dog training business. Emily’s inspiration to open a dog training business comes from the various rescue dogs she works with as well as the many dogs who walked into (but never walked out of) the veterinary clinic where she worked for over a year. She was tired of so many dogs either being surrendered or euthanized due to bad behaviours which could have easily been corrected with the proper guidance and support. Like many trainers, Emily started off looking to purely positive training methods but soon found that they do not work as effectively as is required for the solid training of a well-rounded canine member of the community. Emily found that Brad’s techniques worked wonders on the vast assortment of dogs she was working with – regardless of their history. Contrary to the training styles previously used, these dogs all responded to Brad’s training – not only some. Emily is a Certified Trainer Educator with BPEC. She promotes TREAT-LESS training methods … methods that are based on respect, trust and love rather than bribery, gimmicks and trickery. There is no breed profiling to be found here as Emily welcomes all breeds to her training classes. Emily is currently working with her own dogs in preparation for both agility and sheep herding trials in the upcoming year. These skills are being taught to her dogs without the use of treats or bribery.

The results from the training, which closely follows the more natural way for a dog to learn, were often immediate, and within weeks her own dogs' incessant barking in the backyard ceased almost entirely, without even addressing the issue directly.
Krista believes that dogs deserve a quality life, just like us, and understands that education is the key to teaching dogs and integrating them as more active members of our lives. She looks forward to helping others and their dogs become best buddies!
